LG’s Downfall Has Been Motorola’s Rise

LG’s exit from the smartphone organization introduced a special possibility for the ever-competitive discipline that tends to make up the Android OEM earth. LG, even to the finish, sold a significant volume of handsets (bulk in the lower-finish to mid-tier assortment), so naturally, companies like Samsung, Motorola, and OnePlus would be vying for all those prospects. As it turns out, Motorola did pretty well at turning LG shoppers into Moto shoppers.

In accordance to knowledge offered by Counterpoint, Motorola has formally taken and held the US’ #3 smartphone OEM place for a calendar year, ending with 10% of the current market. That is behind Apple’s massive 58% and Samsung’s respectable 22%. In the graph underneath, we can see that it was involving February and April of 2021 that Motorola commenced to gobble most of what was remaining of LG’s telephone small business.

Counterpoint notes that this success has been remarkably because of to gross sales of Motorola’s Moto G Stylus, Moto G Power, and Moto G Pure telephones.

It will be fun to check out Motorola go on attempts to retain this place. It is no surprise that OnePlus is going tricky into the mid-variety marketplaces with the Nord line. Exact thing can be explained for Google and its Pixel A lineup. Matters will surely get spicy.

Pop your bottles, Moto!
