Family hopeful as new technology offers 1st lead in years in cold case shooting


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – New cellphone technology is serving to get rid of light on a Jacksonville cold case from 2016 on Henrietta Road.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Place of work detectives claimed there wasn’t a large amount of proof to begin with, but matters could have taken a convert.

On Jan. 28, 2016, 22-yr-outdated Jerry Brown was sitting in his aunt’s driveway following dinner, talking on the telephone with his cousin.

It does not match him or even the place he goes or who he’s around so it was like, ‘What do you indicate shot?’ My mind couldn’t wrap all around what she was hoping to say.”

Green remembers begging to see her cousin’s entire body.

“I just saved wondering I could say, ‘Wake up!’ But they wouldn’t permit me,” she claimed. “The way he was taken was unimaginable, but I even now like just can’t believe he’s absent. We have been just conversing to him. We ended up just joking. We were just indicating I really like you and just, ‘What do you suggest he’s absent?’ And in these a horrific way.”


For a long time, Brown’s beloved ones experienced no responses. His case had no superior potential customers — until eventually not too long ago.

“One of our senior detectives has this situation,” Reeves explained. “And he’s digging via the previous scenario evidence applying new cellphone engineering. Technology has modified so significantly even in the previous few several years. And so our senior detective is looking at all of the previous evidence, all the goods that have been looked at just before and then trying to see if they can match with any new technological innovation.”

In the meantime, Brown’s memory life on via his loved ones.

Brown was a relatives gentleman who liked to sing and was acknowledged for singing in his church choir. He had a scholarship to go to Bethune Cookman University and he put it off to acquire treatment of his mother, who had cancer.
